This lovely combination of tulips was growing in a planter near my front door. Look carefully at the two largest tulips and see if you can tell what makes them different. Tulips usually have 6 petals and 6 stamens. The one on the left has 8 petals and 8 stamens - a rare anomaly, like a four-leaf clover. So, these are not just beautiful but also "Lucky Tulips".
This original watercolor was done on paper stretched over a wrapped canvas. The painting continues around the four sides and is sealed with cold wax medium. No frame or glass is needed.
