I just adore this color combination! The petunias are each variations on the same rich warm velvet burgundy and cool yellow. The cheerful blossoms with stars seem to hint at something so much greater than themselves. A whole galaxy captured in a lowly petunia. Everything is made of stardust.
This original watercolor was done on paper stretched over a wrapped canvas. The painting continues around the four sides and is sealed with cold wax medium. No frame or glass is needed.
