Unwind | 11x14"

This painting shows a fiddlehead from an Australian tree fern that I once owned (until it got terribly HUGE). The unfurling fronds reminded me of gears in a clockwork. In additional to being gorgeous fractals, fiddleheads fascinate me because of the potential they symbolize. I love to paint buds, fiddleheads, anything that shows nature's unstoppable energy ready to burst out upon the world!
